hopps is an iOS/Android application that reduces the hassle and time for patrons to get a drink, while boosting revenue for venues and tips for bartenders.
The hopps for patrons application gives bar-goers the ability to view menus, add items to your cart, order, and pay straight from your mobile device.
The hopps for venues application provides venues with productivity and advertising tools to drive foot traffic and increase revenue.

Once you have downloaded hopps for patrons from the Appe Store or Google Play
- Download the hopps for patrons app
- Click Sign up
- Follow the on-screen instructions

- You will be asked to either Sign up or Log in, Click Sign Up

You can log into hopps with an email / password combination. We will be adding more ways to log in quickly and securely soon!

Keeping your profile up-to-date helps hopps keep you informed about your orders.
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Click your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen
- Click View Profile
Here you will be able to manage the following:
- Profile picture (so the bartender doesn't give your drinks to another patron)
- Name (same as above)
- DOB (must be of legal drinking age)
- Tip percentage (to reward your bartenders for great service)
- Email (to send receipts)
- Phone number (sms notifications for your drinks)
Once you have logged into the hopps for patrons application, you can quickly explore our venue partners.
Map screen
- Click on an orange circle on the map screen
- A modal will open at the bottom of the screen showing the venue's name, address, distance away from you, rating, business hours, and service types offered (dine-in or take-out)
Search list
- Click a venue name from the search list on the map screen
- A new screen will open showing the venue's name, address, distance away from you, rating, business hours, and service types offered (dine-in or take-out)
Quickly find venues using our map and search features. Venues running promotions will show as larger red circles and show higher up in the search list under Featured venues.
- Log into the hopps for patrons iOS or Android application
- Adjust the filter in the top right of the map screen by distance or rating and click Apply
- Use the search bar to search for specific venues
To show all venues regardless of your location
- Click the filter in the top right corner of the screen
- Move the slider all the way to the right and click Apply
Checking into a venue allows you to view the menu and place/pay for orders.
- Click an orange circle or venue name from the map screen
- Choose which service you want: dine-in if you are at the venue or take-out if you want to take menu items home
Once checked-in you can browse menu items, add items to your cart, and place orders during business hours.
Venues have the option to offer dine-in, take-out, or both.
After checking into a venue, choose dine-in if you want to consume your food/drinks at the venue, OR choose take-out if you want to take home some cans, bottles, growlers, crowlers, or even merch!
You can easily keep track of the drinks you add to your cart before placing an order.

- Check into a venue
- Browse the menu and select menu items
- Click Cart at the botton of the screen
- Click the red trash bin to remove menu items
- Click the menu item to adjust the quantity
Avoid long lines at the bar and place an order directly from your mobile device. Placing an order with hopps is quick and simple.
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Check into a venue
- Select the dine-in service type
- Add menu items to your cart
- Add a credit/debit card if you want to start a tab OR use Apple/Google Pay to pay per order
- Place your order and watch your phone for notifications on when to pick it up or have it delivered to your table
Note: Your bartender/server may ask to see your hopps order number, name, and valid ID when delivering your order.
Support local venues and order take-out to enjoy at home!
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Check into a venue
- Select the take-out service type
- Add menu items to your cart
- Add a credit/debit card or use Apple/Google Pay
- Select a pick-up time
- Place your order and watch your phone for notifications
Once you have placed a dine-in order, you can track it's ETA easily from the Orders screen
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Make sure you are checked into the venue where you placed the order
- Click Orders at the bottom of your screen
- Find your active order/order number
- You will see the status of your order and the estimated wait time
Note: When the venue receives your order, you will also receive push notifications directly to your phone when your order has been started and when it's ready.
Once you have placed a take-out order, you can track it's ETA easily from the Orders screen
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Make sure you are checked into the venue where you placed the order
- Click Orders at the bottom of your screen
- Find your active order/order number
- You will see the pick up time you selected when placing the order
Note: When the venue receives your order, you will also receive push notifications directly to your phone whe your order has been started and when it's ready.
With hopps, you can hopp the line to get your order quicker for a small fee. This is great if you are in a rush or just want to start the party quicker. This option will only be available to venues that allow tabs. and if the order volume exceeds a certain threshold.
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Add menu items to your cart
- Place your order
- Click hopp the Line
- Move the Slider to adjust the ETA
- Confirm you're okay with the small fee
- Click hopp the Line again
Note: You should see your adjusted ETA and a hopp the Line fee will appear on your tab and receipt once you have paid your tab.
To ensure our venue partners and their bartenders/servers are compensated for their hard work and tasty drinks, we ask you to set a default tip rate to charge in the event that you forget to close your tab.
If you decide to skip this step, the minimum amount (15%) will be set as a default for any tabs which are auto-closed after 4 hours of inactivity.
You can always update your tip rate when closing out your tab prior to it being auto-closed, and you can update your default tip rate in your profile at any time. Thank you for your understanding.
You can rate your experience at a venue after you have paid for your order
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Click Orders at the bottom of the screen
- Click Rate Order
- Rate your service (click Yes or No)
- Select any applicable options and click Submit
OR if you are closing a tab
- Check into a venue
- Start a tab
- Close your tab
- Click Rate your service (click Yes or No)
- Select any applicable options and click Submit
You can view your tab history by:
- Logging into the hopps for patrons application
- Checking into a venue you have place orders at previously (choose dine-in or take-out)
- Click Settings
- Click Tab History
Note: Here you can view a breakdown of all your tabs and orders including venue name, tab number, order number, and amount paid.
You can quickly add menu items to your Favorites:
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Check into a venue (choose dine-in or take-out)
- Select a menu item
- In the top right corner of the menu item's picture, select the yellow star
For a list view of your favorite items at a venue:
- Click Settings
- Click Favorite items
Note: Here you can view a list of all your favorite items at a specific venue.
You can easily view the menu items you have previously ordered:

- Check into a venue you have orderd at previously
- Click Settings
- Click Previous Items
Note: Here you can view all the previous items you have ordered at a specific venue. Please note that some of these items may no longer be on the venue's updated menu.
You will need to have a valid payment method on file to start tabs and place orders on hopps. We use Stripe (https://stripe.com) as our payment processor for venues that do not integrate their POS system with hopps. Venues that have integrated their POS with hopps will use their preferred payment processor to run the transaction. To add/remove payment methods:
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- On the map screen, click your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen
- Click Payment
- OR Check into a venue
- Click Settings
- Click Payment
Here you can view all your saved payment methods. Select a payment method to remove it or change it to your default payment method.
To add a payment method:
- Click Add a card
- Input your card details and click Save
Note: Please note that if you have an open tab, you will not be able to remove your last payment method until the tab has been paid for.
You can apply valid promo codes to your orders/tabs and receive a discount.

- On the map screen, click your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen
- Click Promotions and Credits
- Click Add a Promo Code
- Enter the promo code and click Save

- Check into a venue (dine-in or take-out)
- Click Settings

- Add a Promo Code
- Enter the promo code and click Save
OR when you are placing an order:
- Check into a venue
- Add menu items to your Cart
- On the Make a Payment screen, select Edit under Promo Code
- Add a Promo Code
- Enter the promo code and click Save
Note: Once you have added a promo code to your order/tab you will see the adjusted total
Change your email and password to make sure your account is up-to-date and secure.

hopps sends push notifications to keep you informed about the progress of your orders and relevant events in your area. We recommend keeping notifications on so you don't lose track of your orders and can stay in-the-loop for events at nearby venues.
- Log into the hopps for patrons application
- Select your profile picture at the top left of your screen
- Click Notifications
- This will show a list of all notifications you have been sent
You can adjust your notification preferenes depending on the type of notifications you'd like to receive. We recommend keeping notifications on so you don't lose track of your orders and can stay in-the-loop for events at nearby venues.

- Click Settings
- Click Notifications
- You can adjust the following notifications: Drink order started, Drink order flagged, Drink order ready, Drink order abandoned, Auto close tab, Venue ads and specials
Note: We highly recommend leaving these notifications toggled on.

Note: A member of the hopps team will review your account to make sure we have all the necessary information and you will hear back from us in less than 1 business day with next steps.
Once you have created your free hopps for venues account and have been approved as a hopps venue, you will be able to log into your account on the iPad/Tablet application.

The Dashboard will show you revenue, tips, best selling menu items, top paying customers, worst selling drinks, and most customer visits. Utilize this information to better understand your customers and the popularity of your menu items.
- Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Dashboard
- Adjust the Revenue and tip breakdown on the Revenue and Tip graph by clicking Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly in the top right corner
Note: Certain features on the Dashboard are only available to accounts on paid plans
Get to know your patrons

- If you are on a paid plan, you can see Top Paying Customers and Customers with the Most Visits below the Revenue and Tip graph
Understand what your customers are ordering
- Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Dashboard
- If you are on a paid plan, you can see the Best Selling Drinks and Worst Selling Drinks below the Revenue and Tip graph
If you are not integrated with a POS or Untappd, hopps makes it easy to manage your menu. If you have a .csv, .xls, or .xlsx file of your menu, please send it to your account manage and we will import it for you. If you do not, you will need to create menu categories and add menu items to each category. You can check out how your menu looks to customers by downloading the hopps for patrons application and checking into your venue. - Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Menu
- Select the menu you want to add your categories and menu items to (dine-in, take-out, drinks, food)
- Create a menu category
- Select the appropriate Complexity and Click Save
- Select the appropriate menu category
- Under the menu items section, click the + icon and follow the on-screen instructions and Click Save
Note: Menu management is only available on paid plans
You can quickly hide menu items within the hopps for venues application
- Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Menu
- Click the desired menu category
- Click the desired menu item
- Click the red eye icon
- Click Confirm
1. You will receive an invite link similar to https://connect.omnivore.io/invite/XX (where XX will be your actual invite code)
2. Open the link on your back of house POS
3. Download and install the base Omnivore agent
4. Create/sign into your own Omnivore account where you accept their Terms of Service
5. Select a date/time to schedule with Omnivore support team to complete the install. There will be a confirmation page after selecting the time, you must make sure you confirm the selected time.
After installation is complete, your venue's POS system is now ready to sync with the hopps application.
Keep your menu up-to-date and hide any necessary variants and modifiers
- Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Menu
- Click the desired menu category
- Click the desired menu item
- Click the pencil and paper icon
- Click on the toggle buttons for the variants / modifiers which you want hidden
- Click Save
Quickly reorder menu items to drive purchases for specific menu items
- Log into the hopps for venues application
- Click Menu
- Click Reorder
- Drag and drop to the desired order
- Click Save
- Click Confirm
Add bartenders to your hopps account so they can take orders from patrons. Bartenders using the hopps app tend to see higher tips and venues will see a boost in revenue

- Enter the employee's name
- Enter the employee's email
- Enter and confirm a unique 6-digit PIN
- Enter the employee's phone number to receive SMS order notifications (paid plans only)
- Click Invite Employee
The bartender will receive an email from hopps containing their unique PIN for logging into the hopps Drink Pipeline

Absolutely! Use hopps' advertising platform to promote your venue and reach more potential patrons. Scheduling an ad campaign takes less than 1 minute and you can monitor ad performance (impressions and clicks) from the application. You can also run Push Notification campaigns and reach 1,000s of patrons in your are directly on their phone or create Promo Codes to reward your loyal patrons!

- Select the dates you want to run your campaign

Yes! hopps allows you to review historical data (revenue, tips, and number of tabs and drinks served) for a specific timeframe via the Archive feature

Note: The screen will adjust accordingly to display applicable metrics for the time period selected
hopps notification center is your go-to to check that all orders are being worked on in a timely manner

- You will see a list of all order notifications in descending order
If you are on a paid hopps plan, you are can accept patron orders via the Drink Pipeline. Using a queue system to manage orders will increase bartender throughput and boost tips / revenue. Bartenders average 26% tip rates on the hopps application
- Log into the Drink Pipeline with your 6-digit PIN
- Assign an open order to yourself by clicking the Start button in the right corner of the drink order
- If you think a patron should not be served, click Cancel Order to inform the patron and to remove the order from the queue (they will not be charged for the order)
- Otherwise, click Ready once you have finished preparing the order to inform the patron that their order is ready to be picked up at the bar (or you're dropping it off at the table)
- Check the patron's order number on their phone against the order number on the Drink Pipeline to confirm
- Click Complete to archive the order once the patron has been served
If your bartenders like a more holistic view of all open and closed orders in the Drink Pipeline
- Log into the Drink Pipeline with your 6-digit PIN
- Click View Tabs in the top right corner

If you offer dine-in ordering, and have either table service or walk up service available to patrons, follow these steps

- Toggle on the appropriate service type
Based on the service type selected, the patron will receive the appropriate push notification keeping them informed of their order
